Embracing 250
Happy Birthday, America!
May we remember what brought us here, appreciate what has been built, and continue choosing what is worthy of carrying forward.
Two hundred and fifty years is more than a measure of time. It is the accumulation of decisions, sacrifices, failures, corrections, and ideals carried from one generation to the next. What has endured did not survive by accident. It survived because people believed certain principles were worth protecting, certain responsibilities were worth accepting, and possibilities were only limited by imagination.
We inherit both the strength of what came before us and the obligation to decide what comes next. The work is never finished. Every generation must choose what it will preserve, what it will repair, and what it will leave behind for those who follow.
Tradition for our Future | Douglas County, Oregon
We do not know what the future will bring, just as we cannot predict our fate. But one thing we can do is celebrate freedom while we have it, honor it while we live it, and pass it on with purpose.
If America is to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave for another 250 years, freedom cannot be treated as a passive inheritance. It is not simply a gift. It is something that must be protected, renewed, and carried forward by each generation.
So here is to the founding of this country, to the principles that gave it shape, and to the long, imperfect rise that followed.
There are scars along the way, created by past wrongs and wounds that run deep. Yet this country still stands, ever changing, still striving, and at its best, still grounded in principle.

A special thank-you to my friend Steven Michael Smith for bringing me along to capture this photo. Some moments are planned, and some are given. This one felt like a gift.
Thank you, Steve.

And if you’re ready to declare independence from your current property, I’d be happy to help. Homes, land, and rural properties all deserve a proper send-off, preferably with fewer fireworks and a smoother closing date.
Warm Regards,

The future is not promised, but it is still ours to shape.
Happy 250th, America.
